Reservations Manager

London (Knightsbridge) Up to £45K (DOE) Permanent

This beautiful hotel is a modern classic reinvented, in the heart of Knightsbridge. The property itself has undergone a glow up recently and it's new prices reflect this excitingly. The staff on arrival are dressed in incredible bespoke uniforms made by a local designer (they even change day to night) and the views over the private gardens from the suites are sublime. In short, you will run the daily operations and, with your team, will handle all incoming reservation enquiries, ensuring that the needs of all guests are met. You be responsible for all rooms reservations procedures to maximise revenue and ensure delivery or exceeding of budgeted room revenues and work with the wider Sales team and ensure that they are aware of all offerings to the market and be able to determine any sales leads for future business through previous bookings. Your collaboration between DOSM, DOR, operational teams and extended sales team will be key to your success in this role. 

As a property that receives a high volume of VIP requests, you will handle these bookings with particular care and attention and that amenities and other guest preferences are effectively communicated to guest relations and other operational teams.

About You

You will have at least 2 years experience in a similar role and have experience in using Opera - as a priority, we are looking for candidates that have worked in a 5* property, however we are very open to candidates that have represented 4* deluxe brands. You will be commercially focused (targets and results) and strong systematic approach to team, process management and with impeccable attention to detail. 

You will be managing a small team, so you will have a passion for moulding and developing your direct reports to meet the required standards of this exceptional brand. 

Needless to say you will have a great work ethic and be a glass half full kind of person, with no task being too big or small.

The Day to Day 

  • Ensure own knowledge & understanding of Opera, instituting a weekly check and purge & follow up with any remedial action
  • Ensure reservations are taken accurately &  traces are in place for front office to follow up as required
  • To ensure all calls are answered promptly and use techniques to ensure that lead conversion is maximised to standard
  • Ensure that reservations include accurate billing details
  • Effectively manage distribution of workload amongst self and direct reports
  • Ensure that team acquires as much guest preferences and pre-arrival information as possible during the reservations process and that information is completely and accurately recorded in Opera
  • Be responsible for the appropriate staff coverage within the department; rotas & holidays
  • Attend weekly revenue meeting and provide accurate input on market conditions, rates, call volumes and other relevant information
  • Work with DOSM & DOR in relation to the maintenance of third party websites
