Digital Project Manager

They are a turnkey digital management company specializing in servicing the world’s leading hospitality and travel brands. They complete the perfect digital journey for guests by building their clients’ online brands, creating sustainable client acquisition, and increasing direct to consumer revenue. 

Located at the Foundry, in Cape Town’s historic De Waterkant district, our client is now looking to invite new members to its growing community as it digitally transforms the travel industry.

The Role

As a Digital Project Manager, your role will revolve largely around managing technical projects and related operations, planning and scoping, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management. You will work closely with in-house and freelance team members from a variety of functions as well as clients in the luxury travel industry. You will be responsible for leading the Web Development and Marketing teams to deliver projects and tasks on time, within scope and within budget through daily management of outcomes and timelines, operational management, creative problem solving, and stakeholder and client engagement and management. 

A typical day will include managing project documentation, leading project meetings, communicating with key stakeholders through a variety of mediums, ensuring tasks are executed, ensuring that project management tools and communications are up-to-date, completing and sharing status reports, and implementing quality control.

Day to Day

  • Manage the planning of projects according to the business strategy and goals, client requirements and resource capacity
  • Manage the project process for existing clients’ projects, once-off projects and website renewals
  • Gather project requirements and create project scoping documents
  • Manage deliverables and timelines with team members to ensure alignment with project timelines
  • Design project plans, timelines and work breakdown structures
  • Draft and update project documents including budgets, project charters and project and communication plans
  • Create and manage project and task management boards according to the workflow processes of teams involved in the project
  • Manage detailed daily communication with internal and external project stakeholders at all levels
  • Lead, manage and motivate the Web Development and Marketing teams as they work to create client products and execute projects
  • Run Project Kick-off meetings, Stand-Ups and Retrospectives with project teams in order to measure and track project progress
  • Execute creative problem-solving, scenario planning and change management
  • Collaborate with team members from multiple functions to refine and improve project processes
  • Manage and ensure the successful launch of projects
  • Manage the quality control process for all projects

About You

  • A graduate with 2+ years experience in a Project Management environment, experience in technical project management is a plus
  • An individual with a Project Management certification from a recognised institution is advantageous
  • Experienced in managing projects, especially of a Web Development and digital nature
  • Experienced in creating project management documentation
  • Experienced in managing and/or working with budgets
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Experienced in using Asana other major project management tools
  • An individual with strong listening and verbal and written communication skills
  • An individual with strong planning, time management and administrative skills
  • Able to work in a collaborative environment demonstrating strong skills in facilitation and influencing
  • Passionate about travel, conservation, or the world of digital
  • Able to navigate large organizations and get executive buy-in
  • An individual with attention to detail
  • Able to organise, prioritize and allocate workload
  • An individual with creative problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Able to be flexible and deal with change constructively
  • Able to build and manage stakeholder relationships effectively
  • Able to successfully manage multiple projects at one time

  • Up to 30,000ZAR/Month (depending on experience)
