About Us

The Role: Lightning Consultant

We're looking for someone who is super passionate about people. We're looking for someone who loves the luxury travel industry. We're looking for someone who wants to grow. 

In short, you'll be leading recruitment processes and earning your own commission. Working alongside Ciarán, you'll be mentored by him and given your own leads, as well as being empowered to reach out and get your own new clients from a business perspective basis.

Our focus is not on hard sales, but instead is on the human element of recruitment. As a business we are not about making the most money, but about making the biggest difference and providing the best service, so no hard sales driven people need apply as this won't be the role for you....however we do need someone who is able to multi-task, is deadline driven and is a natural relationship builder. We'd also love a closer, with some previous sales experience.

You will dedicate one day a week strictly to helping candidates and your key focus is getting to know everyone personally so you're able to match clients to candidates, even when there may not be a role live. We're like a high end dating agency.

NO EGOS NEED APPLY - both Chris and Ciarán started off their careers doing admin and it won't work if you come into this role thinking you're better than this (or us).

Growth Plans 

We have big plans for Lightning. Having had Ciarán join us from ILTM in August, he has hit the ground running and already owns his own clients and has made his first placements. 

We are looking to continue to grow the business at a steady (but not unrealistic) pace, and as well as this role we are also recruiting for an admin position, so come January there will be a team of 3 in London (Shoreditch). It is extremely important for us to lay the foundations to continue to bring exciting talent on board, as we aim to take over the luxury travel recruitment market completely.

Day to Day

- Speaking to candidates over video chat 

- Being the key point of contact for your accounts and providing a high level of service

- Ensuring the CRM is updated to show your pipeline of candidates in interview processes 

- Seeking out new clients on a BDM basis 

- Dedicating a day a week to speaking to new candidates and providing them free advice/help

- Headhunting candidates for roles 

- Ensuring all stages of interview processes are handled with care and you are the middle person between the candidate and the clients

- Keeping up to date with industry affairs and being a brand ambassador for Lightning 

About You

- Non Negotiable: must be incredibly passionate about the luxury travel industry and what Lightning is doing as a brand.

- This role would suit candidates from trade show backgrounds / hotel sales backgrounds perfectly - anyone who has a very wide knowledge of the industry and people within it.

- No degree needed

- No recruitment experience needed

- Can be based anywhere in the UK, but ideally London

- Is confident on the phone and video and tech savvy

- Is a natural salesperson (no formal training needed) with a huge love for the travel industry

- Is an advocate for diversity and LGBTQ rights

Remote working, but you can also utilise our office space in Shoreditch if London based

Every last Friday of each month off as a mandatory mental health day

Work from Europe policy - if you'd like to base yourself in an Air Bnb somewhere sunny that's fine with us, for up to 2 months a year

Birthday off each year

Flexible working, but Core hours - 10am - 6pm daily, with 1 hour for lunch. 

£23,000 PA basic regardless of experience, with a generous commission structure that equates to around £50K OTE (Ciarán is on target to hit this currently).

Laptop and Phone provided + Pension Scheme

Budget for shared workspace allocated if outside of London
