The Role...
You will lead the global commercial strategy and work closely with the COO, regional General Managers and the core leadership team to ensure an aggressive growth plan for the business. With responsibility for the global product & sales strategy you will be influential in the travel space and drive the company to become a market leader in its existing and new markets.
As a senior leader with established connections in the experiences and activities sector you will champion innovation and work relentlessly to champion our brand, mould and nurture our existing product strategy and bring new ways of working to ensure a high performing product & sales division.
You are an analytical thinker, as comfortable crunching data as you are cultivating local and multinational B2B relationships and will champion a high performing culture.
Key Responsibilities...
● You will start day 1 by building the market expansion plan - assessing data, the market and using your entrepreneurial character to map out new destinations, verticals and categories to activate growth.
● Lead the product/market teams to execute regional growth that is aligned with a global and local approach, collaborating with regional teams to help inspire the product roadmap.
● Own the direct & OTA sales strategy using your flair for relationship building, and your creativity to build on existing and attract new business.
● Complete ownership of the product roadmap, ensuring product scale & profitability working with our regional teams and partners to ensure the product roadmap remains centered to the core values & DNA.
● Manage the inventory strategy ensuring capacity meets demand, combined with an effective yield management process to maximise profitability.
● Work with technology, marketing & e-commerce partners and colleagues to ensure product is traded direct and via OTA’s, positioned to maximise sales and exposure.
● Own product quality ensuring we deliver a truely unique and innovative experience to all customers globally.
● P&L management for the Commercial division, comfortable working with C-Suite and Finance personnel to build and own a global P&L.
● Lead the contracting process to ensure effective access and working relationships with key suppliers including attractions, tour operators, OTA’s, ground service providers and many more.
● Ownership and accountability for global pricing strategy.
● Work hand in hand with our Head of Marketing to ensure a suitable product marketing vision.
Skills & Experience...
● You will have a minimum 5 years senior experience in the travel industry, preferred in the activities and experience space, with a range of contacts and ideas.
● Solid geographical knowledge across Europe & North America.
● Highly analytical & numerical skill set with the ability to build, present and interpret data sets within a commercial and financial capacity.
● Experience in a scale up / startup or high growth business, comfortable executing at speed and utilising data in an entrepreneurial environment.
● Experience working with OTA’s and driving group business leading a small sales division to motivate sales growth.
● You will have existing experience in an e-commerce capacity, comfortable assessing, monitoring and activating insights from trends to ensure growth.
● You have worked in an environment where a commercial process needs refining and/or building to maximise performance.
● You can clearly demonstrate a vision, comfortable presenting new business plans and ideas to C-Suite executives.
● Well organised and comfortable working in a fast paced environment, ensuring you and your team remain focused and aligned to core business objectives.
